If you’ve ever considered archery, now is the time to get in touch! We run beginners courses throughout the year from age 10 upwards. Our courses last for 6 weeks, are run by qualified Archery GB coaches and you will be eligible to join our club on completion.

All our courses follow the guidelines as laid down by Archery GB and our club coaches are qualified Archery GB Coaches. From time to time junior assistant coaches, trainee Level 1 coaches and un-qualified experienced archers may be involved in coaching.

All the necessary safety and shooting equipment needed for the course is provided for you, though we do ask that you wear footwear with flat soles, tie back long hair and avoid loose clothing as this could result in you being unable to shoot.

Archers and the Parents/Guardians of junior archers are reminded that under no circumstances are under-18s allowed to shoot without supervision of at least two adults; a Parent/Legal Guardian and an Archery GB registered archer who is willing to take responsibility for the safety of the junior.

The coaching of beginners through Wearmouth Archers must be arranged through, and formally sanctioned by, the club’s committee for insurance purposes.

Our beginners courses for 2021 /22 seasons are reduced in priced to £50 per person for the 6 week course, if you would like further information please get in touch. Payments can be taken using BACS, PayPal or cash/cheque and information about this will be provided when you sign up for one of our courses.

Our beginners course schedule is as follows.

Outdoor course starts Sunday 9th May. With a second Outdoor course starting Sunday 27th June. These will be at our outdoor range at Thompsons Road cricket ground and start at 2 pm. The outdoor courses can be subject to date changes as we have to work round cricket and football fixtures, and may also be re scheduled due to bad weather at short notice.

Indoor course start dates are; Saturday 18th September, Saturday 6th November, Saturday 8th January, Saturday 26th February. These will be held at our indoor range at Lambton street Youth Centre and start at 10 am.
