Welcome to Wearmouth Archers, a friendly and fun archery club in Sunderland. We offer a wide variety of archery styles, from Olympic Recurve to Traditional Longbow, and cater to all levels of experience and ability. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned archer, you will find a warm and welcoming community at our club.
Our Vision
Our vision is to foster a friendly, fun, and engaging atmosphere at our club, where everyone can enjoy archery and improve their skills. We welcome everyone, no matter their background to archery or who they are; we only ask that people follow the rules and be respectful. We are proud of our members, especially our young members, who are doing fantastically well. Everyone takes pride in the club and our atmosphere and it is something that we will continue to do.
Our History
Our club was founded by a couple of friends in 2018, who wanted to share their passion for archery with others. They started with a few bows and arrows and a small field, and gradually grew the club to what it is today. They wanted to ensure that the club remained fun, friendly, and open to all, and that is still our ethos.
Our Team
We have a wide variety of volunteers, too many to count, but our coaches are all experienced and trained. They are always ready to help and advise our members and visitors, and to make sure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable archery experience. Our committee comprises of people who have done archery for a very long time, and those who are new to the sport. As a team, they work well together, bringing new ideas and ensuring experience is valued too.
Our Members
Our members are the heart and soul of our club. They come from all walks of life and have different goals and aspirations. Some of them want to compete and win medals, some of them want to have fun and socialize, and some of them want to relax and unwind. Whatever their reason, they all share a love for archery and a respect for each other. We do not push people to do competitions, but if they want to do that, we have plenty of people who will support them on that journey.
